NAKED in Front of a Mirror

I've been thinking about starting a blog for a little while now, but every time I go to actually do it the thought of it has been too intimidating. It feels too much like standing, buck naked, in front of a mirror. There is a tendency to be overly critical of yourself. And much in the same way one flexes or stands in an obscenely unnatural position in an attempt to compensate for one's perceived physical shortcomings, I imagine I will awkwardly try to be witty to compensate for my perceived literary shortcomings.

Now that this is out of the way, to the reason for this blog. I want to first of all make it clear that this is more an exploratory means of self expression. I have no particular agenda nor do I assume I will have any influence on potential readers. This has much more to do with the fact that I read other people's blogs and think it would be fun to have a place to write about things that interest me, regardless of readership.

I absolutely cannot predict the future subject matter that will be covered in this blog. I think one of the great things about personal and informal blogging is that I have no intended audience to pander to. My only objectives are to write about that which interests me and hopefully not embarrass myself. So if you feel so inclined to check in from time to time I would be ok with that...
